So, by now you’ve probably realised that there have been a few changes to the service known as Tweekly.fm and the way that it operates. The original site was created by Simon de la Rouviere and worked well up until November last year. At that point, there we a few issues with the way the service ran and its automatic updating began to splutter away until it was changed into a manual service.
I recently wrote a project that performed the same functions as Simon's site however mine was a little leaner and newer which made the process a little faster to run. The version that I wrote initially worked well but there were a few things I wanted to change and I spent time doing so. The final site is the production version that you see live at tweekly.fm and works wonderfully well.
The service now operates fully and works a little different. You can select a day to publish and also append your own hash-tag, such as #mm, #tweeklyfm or #fb. I’m extending the platform to allow users to choose whether to publish the most listened to artists, tracks or maybe something more in the future.
I’ve managed to process the entire old user base for the uses who had signed up with OAuth. If you were using basic authentication (i.e., entering your username and password) then I sadly wasn’t able to import your records over. You can signup at any time though by visiting tweekly.fm and signing in via your Twitter account.
Also, I've developed a Facebook service too, its called laststat.us and you're welcome to use that too.
